Sometimes I think that the movements I learn about on tumblr aren’t the way those movements actually are in real life.
I think this is a website with a million people all trying to create and vent based on their personal backgrounds. Then one person decides “this is the exact definition of this” and suddenly enough reblogs and added comments later, we seem to think that’s how the movement is thought of everywhere.
The truth is, most political/social/movements mean different things to different people. It is, in my experience, uncommon for a person to believe in absolutely every single thing a movement is fighting for, so it seems strange to me that tumblr always seems to have exact agreed upon definitions of these platforms.
Sometimes I wish we were all more open. If we stopped thinking about platforms as set unchanging topics, and allowed genuine and researched questions to be asked, we may actually accomplish tasks set fourth in some of these platforms, rather than create unnecessary animosity and divide among a large group of people in this world that are actually hoping to change it.

It’s a funny thing, wine.
We break bread with it. We toast weddings and anniversaries with it. We honor global treaties with it.
Wine is so much more than a simple drink. It’s a statement, an accent mark, a punctuation to a sentence.
It can complement a meal. It can serve as pretense. It melds science, culture, and even art.
